Summary: Ultimate Dutch Oven Chef pits your Dutch Oven skills with that of your friends.
Ages: From 14 and older
Recommended Number of Players/Teams:
Best played with 3 or 4 per team and can be played with as many teams as you have room to cook Dutch Oven style.
Each Team Needs the following EQUIPMENT:
One Dutch Oven
30-35 pieces of Charcoal
2 Paper Lunch Sacks
Marshmellow Roasting Stick
Each Team Needs the following INGRDIENTS:
Tube of pre-made pizza crust
Small amount of Vegetable Oil
Can of Pizza Sauce
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Grated Cheddar Cheese
Salt and Pepper
Head of Lettuce
A box of "Jiffy" brand Blueberry Muffin Mix
4 large Oranges
2 Strips of Bacon
Each Team Needs a copy of the SCORESHEET:
Every team will need a space to cook in. This is best played in a camp ground where there are several campsites available with firepits and picnic tables. It works just as well in a very large backyard that can accomodate several teams and many "firepit" locations and cardtables so that every team has their own station to work from.
Package the Equipment and Ingredients for each team in boxes and bags and have ready by each station.
Object of the Game: To cook the best meal while simultaneously earning more points than the other teams.
How to Play:
As the Host, you must chose "Judges" prior to the game. The Judges may not help cook the meal. They are to score each team based off the scoresheet. Each team must prepare a plate for the Judges to sample the meal they prepared.
The Host must also decide if the game will be played "the easy way" or "the hard way." The easy way is appropriate for beginner Dutch Oven cooks and youth. The hard way is great for experienced cooks and adults.
If you have chosen the easy way, then print out the following information:
INSERT THE RECIPES AND DUTCH INFO HERE
1) In addition to the Equipment, Ingredients and Scoresheet, give each team a copy of the Recipes and Dutch oven secrets. Tell them they must cook the pizza, make the salad, bake the muffins and fry the bacon as outlined in the instructions.
Winner: The team with the most points wins.
